Humble Beginnings - A Personal Story

This is the story of how Jemma's Treasures came to be. I'm Janet, the store owner, and never thought I'd be here in a million years.

I recently left a 40 year marriage (yes, seriously). I've struggled with health issues for about 20 years and had to retire from office work early in life. I had no choice but to be dependent on my then spouse for so long that I thought options for a happy and healthy future were very limited.

I found myself walking through the bare bones of life, merely existing. My health was suffering and I was on way too many prescriptions for several medical conditions, with possibly more on the horizon. So I came to a decision to make changes, slowly but steadily. I came off of the first 2 prescriptions (out of 9) within a few months, Summer of 2023. I completely changed my food intake choices, lost weight and started to feel much better, more energetic and in less pain. That went on for a couple of years.

Then in Spring of 2025, I became aware of several important things. I could no longer ignore the unhappiness of my marriage, I could look into starting an online store of my own, and best of all, I could suddenly feel and sense so many wondrous things in our world and universe that I never could before. All of this caused quite a change in perspective and I felt the need to explore and to even maybe share my thoughts, hopes, and dreams within the product that I could publish in my store.

It was definitely time to rejoin life and move on to the next phase for me, however that may turn out.

My health improved even more as I embarked on this new journey, so much so that before the end of 2025, I was able to come off of all of the remaining prescriptions I was taking. It was quite a milestone for me, and I'm very grateful for having my health back after all of this time. As it says on one of my favorite designs, "A grateful heart is a magnet for miracles".

I hope you enjoy browsing, and perhaps purchasing, from the many categories of product listed on my homepage. I'm quite proud of them and hope they appeal to you, as well.

Thank you for reading my story.

Sincerely, and with humble gratitude, Janet
